Michael E. Mazzola has been a member of the Massapequa community for over 50 years and has a vested interest in maintaining a safe and secure water supply for all families and businesses within the Massapequa Water District. Mr. Mazzola’s community involvement started with the Massapequa Fire Department where he has been a member for 44 years, including his tenure as Fire Commissioner for 15 years. As Fire Commissioner, Mr. Mazzola managed capital projects involving buildings and grounds, personnel management, and apparatus specifications and purchases. Specific accomplishments as Fire Commissioner include the upgrade of all three firehouse emergency generators, new truck maintenance and training facility for fire fighters, a computerized dispatch system, and the purchase of three new ambulances over nine years. In the private sector, Mr. Mazzola’s experience includes management and facility operations. Mr. Mazzola also serves the community as an active member in the Kiwanis Club of Massapequa, serving as Secretary and Treasurer. He is Past President of the Massapequa Soccer Club, allowing him to remain active in a sport he loves. Mr. Mazzola’s skill set and background will underpin his role as Commissioner of the Massapequa Water District and facilitate projects at the District for continued flow of safe, potable drinking water to its customers. He raised a daughter and a son in the community and continues to reside in Massapequa with his wife.
